Trimble Accubid: Classic, Anywhere, Bluebeam and alternatives.

Accubid is Trimble's electrical estimating software line. Contractors ask how the desktop (Classic) and cloud-oriented (Anywhere) products differ, how Accubid works alongside Bluebeam, and what alternatives exist. Here's a practical frame for each question.

Three common questions

What estimators are actually asking.

01

Classic vs. Anywhere

Accubid Classic is the original desktop estimating product (Trimble cites 42,000+ items and 13,000 assemblies). Accubid Anywhere is cloud-based, sold as one subscription, with multi-user and multi-branch access, APIs and a change-management module. Both link two ways with LiveCount takeoff. Migration and data compatibility are the practical questions.

02

Accubid vs. Bluebeam

They do different jobs. Bluebeam is PDF markup and measurement; Accubid is an estimating system with labor and pricing. Many contractors use Bluebeam for markups and RFIs and an estimating system for pricing.

Evaluate on your own set

Questions to ask any electrical estimating tool.

CriterionWhat to check
Takeoff speedHow are devices, fixtures and runs counted: clicked, assembled or proposed by AI?
Labor databaseWhich labor units ship with it, and how easily can you calibrate them to your history?
Price updatesHow material pricing is updated and from which services.
RevisionsHow addenda and change orders are compared and repriced.
TraceabilityCan a reviewer trace any quantity to its sheet and location?
DeploymentDesktop, cloud or both; licensing; IT requirements.
OutputBid summaries, proposals and exports to your other systems.

How it works

From plan set to reviewed quantities.

AI-powered, human-approved. Each stage records what ran, what changed and who approved it.

Start with your bid package

Drawings, specs and addenda together: power and lighting plans, the fixture schedule, panel schedules, the one-line and the Division 26 spec sections.

AI proposes quantities

Counts, lengths and areas come back with the source sheet and location attached to every row.

Estimator review

Low-confidence items surface first. Your estimator accepts, corrects or rejects each one.

Map to your assemblies

Approved quantities map to your items, assemblies and estimating assumptions.

Price reviewed rows

Labor units, material pricing and supplier quotes apply only to rows that passed review.

Hand off with evidence

Approved quantities move on to pricing and visual CPQ with the evidence trail still attached.

Supported files and tasks depend on your trade and implementation. Confirm them in the free sample run.

What we checked (November 2026)

  • Accubid Anywhere (Trimble product page, November 2026):
    • Cloud-based estimating for electrical and industrial mechanical contractors, sold as one subscription.
    • Shared items, assemblies and projects across offices, plus APIs.
    • Pricing from Trade Service, drawing compare and a change-management module.
    • LiveCount with AI takeoff and Auto Count.
  • Accubid Classic:
    • Over 42,000 items and 13,000 assemblies, multi-level breakdowns and an instant bid summary.
    • A two-way live link to LiveCount.
    • LiveCount AI takeoff is only available with the Classic Estimating Essentials Hosted subscription.
  • Desktop LiveCount is being discontinued. Trimble's video library describes LiveCount Cloud as its replacement, included in Accubid Classic Estimating Essentials with Classic Pro v16. If you run an older Classic version, ask Trimble about support dates before bid season.
Human review, by design

The AI drafts. Your estimator decides.

Speed is easy to promise. Defensible numbers are the job, so RenderDraw keeps the estimator in control of every quantity that gets priced.

  • Source on every row. Each quantity keeps its source sheet, location and reviewer decision.
  • Lowest confidence first. The review queue shows the drawing tile with the detection highlighted and the extracted value.
  • Uncertain items flagged, not hidden. Anything the AI can't confirm goes to the estimator rather than being guessed.
  • Nothing priced before approval. Rows move on to pricing only after they are accepted.

FAQ

Questions estimators ask

What is Trimble Accubid?

Electrical estimating software from Trimble, used by electrical contractors for takeoff, labor and material pricing and bid closeout.

What is the difference between Accubid Classic and Accubid Anywhere?

Classic is the original desktop estimating product; Anywhere is Trimble's cloud-based subscription for electrical and industrial mechanical contractors, with shared databases across offices, APIs and change management. Both link two ways with LiveCount. Confirm current features and licensing with Trimble.

Is there a free Accubid download?

Accubid is commercial software; contact Trimble for trials or demos.

What is an alternative to Accubid?

Other electrical estimating platforms exist; evaluate them on your own bid. If takeoff time is the bottleneck, AI takeoff like RenderDraw can feed whichever estimating system you use.

Does Accubid have AI takeoff?

Yes. Trimble lists AI-powered takeoff and Auto Count in LiveCount. For Classic, Trimble notes AI functionality is available only with the Accubid Classic Estimating Essentials Hosted subscription.

Start small

See what the AI reads on your own drawings.

Send one representative electrical plan set. RenderDraw reviews it and follows up with what the AI extracted and what it flagged for review. Your files remain private while the request is assessed, and there is no obligation.

  1. Upload power and lighting plans, the fixture schedule, panel schedules, the one-line and the Division 26 spec sections.
  2. RenderDraw reviews the set and the scope you want tested.
  3. We follow up with extracted quantities, flagged items and next steps.
