A CPQ template in Excel: configure, price, quote.

CPQ stands for Configure, Price, Quote. This workbook gives you the three parts in their simplest form: an option catalog with rules, a price list, and a quote sheet that totals lines, applies discount limits and flags anything that needs approval.

See configuration, pricing and quoting on one of your own products.

How to use it

From drawings to a priced line, in order.

Build the catalog

List every SKU with price and the plain-language rules your sales team already follows.

Set the guardrail

Enter the maximum discount a rep can give without approval.

Quote

Pick SKUs on the Quote tab; descriptions and prices look up, nets total, and over-limit lines flag for approval.

Review rules

Check Requires/Excludes by hand before sending; Excel won't enforce them.

FAQ

Questions estimators ask

What is the full form of CPQ?

Configure, Price, Quote: software (or a process) for configuring a product correctly, pricing it and producing a quote.

Can you do CPQ in Excel?

For a small catalog, yes, as this template shows. Excel can look up prices and flag discounts but can't reliably enforce configuration rules or route approvals.

What is a CPQ form?

Usually the quote input form: product selections, quantities and discounts that generate a priced quote. The Quote tab is a simple version.

When should we move from an Excel CPQ to software?

When rules are broken in sent quotes, when only one person understands the workbook, when approvals are slowing deals, or when buyers need to see the configured product.

Does RenderDraw replace Salesforce CPQ?

RenderDraw offers visual configuration, including RenderDraw for Revenue Cloud. See the Salesforce CPQ comparison page for how they relate.
