A measurement is only useful if the next person can tell where it came from. Too often the room sits in one place, the service route in a sketch, and the numbers in a separate list. This post explains what MeasurePro 1.4 adds (room runs, editable outdoor plans, saved room images, and reviewed measurement input) and how to use each one.

Version 1.4 was submitted to Apple on October 16. Availability is subject to App Review approval.

What is MeasurePro 1.4?

MeasurePro is RenderDraw's iPhone app for measuring and reviewing rooms and outdoor sites. Version 1.4 keeps the details your team needs close to the measurements: service routes, site outlines, a room image, and the reading that went into each dimension. It also adds room details in 2D and 3D, placement of locally imported shapes, and better diagnostics for configured Salesforce Flow workflows.

How is a measurement in context different from a loose list?

Without context, the room is saved in one place, the HVAC route lives in a sketch, the site outline is on a plan, and the dimensions are in a list. Whoever picks up the job has to translate between all of them.

With context, the route stays with the room it belongs to. The outdoor outline is edited next to its displayed lengths and areas. The room image is saved with the scan, and each new reading goes to the dimension you chose.

What does MeasurePro 1.4 add?

  1. Room runs. Add HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or custom runs to a saved room, adjust route points and elevations, and check the path in 2D and 3D.

  2. Outdoor plan editing. Pinch to zoom an outdoor plan and drag a selected boundary vertex to adjust its outline, with displayed lengths and areas beside the plan.

  3. Saved room images. MeasurePro prepares an isometric PNG automatically, and you can export it with or without dimensions.

  4. Reviewed measurement input. Choose the target dimension, confirm the units, and review a reading from a measuring tool before you apply it. Manual entry stays available.

How do you add a run to a room?

  1. Open a saved room, then choose Add, then Runs.

  2. Choose a type and profile. Tap the 2D plan to add points and enter elevations in meters.

  3. Review the route in 3D, then tap Save run.

The benefit is that the next person can see where a service route goes without asking.

How do you edit an outdoor plan?

  1. Open an outdoor plan and select the boundary or area you want to edit.

  2. Pinch to change the view, then drag a corner to adjust the outline.

  3. Review the displayed measurements and open Quantities for the summary.

You review the shape and its dimensions together instead of translating between a sketch and a list.

How do you export a room image?

  1. Open a saved room and select Image.

  2. Check the current room view after your corrections.

  3. Open Report and export, then choose an Isometric image PNG option.

Office colleagues get a visual reference for the room alongside the measurements they need to review.

How do you review a measuring-tool reading?

  1. Open a wall, opening, pillar, or ceiling editor and choose Use a measuring tool.

  2. Select the dimension and units, then enter or receive a compatible tool reading.

  3. Check the value, tap Use reading, then save the editor.

Because you pick the dimension first, a new reading goes to the field you selected.

What if a Salesforce Flow is missing?

These steps apply to the original-capture Salesforce workflow in MeasurePro 1.4.

  1. Sign in to the intended Salesforce organization. Open the affected saved scan, tap the ellipsis for Room details, then choose Salesforce, then Open original-capture workflow to reach Launch a Flow.

  2. If you see "Contact your Administrator to Setup Connectivity Flow," tap that message three times quickly. You can also triple-tap the crossed-rectangle icon above it.

  3. In Flow Diagnostics, tap Copy diagnostics.

  4. Paste the report into your reply to RenderDraw, with the Salesforce username, Production or sandbox, device and iOS version, MeasurePro version, and approximate failure time.

The report covers the lookup of configured flows, including the lookup time, the returned and launchable flow counts, and any Salesforce request errors. If a Flow opens and then fails, also send the exact on-screen error, a screenshot, and when it happened.

What are the limits?

  1. Hardware is optional. Bluetooth accessory compatibility depends on the device and setup, and manual entry always works.

  2. Direct DISTO D2 and Apple Watch contact features are experimental and need physical-device validation.

  3. Connected Salesforce workflows require compatible accounts and organization setup.

Where does MeasurePro fit next to Takeoffs?

Takeoffs by RenderDraw pulls quantities from BIM, CAD, and PDF drawings. MeasurePro covers the measurements that start in the room or on the site. Use Takeoffs when the quantities come from drawings and MeasurePro when they come from the space itself.

The Bottom Line

MeasurePro 1.4 keeps routes, outlines, images, and readings attached to the room or site they describe, so the next person doesn't have to guess. View MeasurePro on the App Store once 1.4 is approved, or talk to RenderDraw about using it for your team's measurement and review handoff.
