Concrete estimating template: pours to yards to price.
A concrete estimating spreadsheet organized the way you take off: one row per element with dimensions, cubic yards with waste, formwork contact area and finish area, then a pricing tab for concrete, pump, forms, finishing and reinforcing.

Yellow cells are inputs; formulas do the rest. Every default is an example you should replace with your own numbers.

Rows 3–5 use the same formulas as row 2; the workbook fills them in automatically.
From drawings to a priced line, in order.
List elements from the plans
Foundation plan, slab plan and sections: one row per element type and mark.
Enter dimensions
Feet for lengths and heights, inches for thickness; counts for repeated piers and footings.
Set waste by element
Footings and piers usually carry more than slabs; use your history.
Price it
Pricing pulls CY, SFCA and finish SF; add rebar from your rebar takeoff and your supplier prices.
What each column is for.
| Column | What goes in it |
|---|---|
| Element | Mark or description from the plan |
| Type | Slab, Footing, Wall, Pier (dropdown) |
| Count | Number of identical elements |
| Width (ft) | Slab/footing width |
| Height (ft) | Wall or pier height |
| Thick/Depth (in) | Slab/footing thickness or wall thickness; pier diameter |
| Waste % | Over-excavation, spillage, uneven subgrade |
| CY incl. waste | Cubic yards to order |
| Forms SFCA | Contact area |
| Finish SF | Top surface to finish |
Where a concrete spreadsheet stops helping.
The math is easy
Yards, forms and finish areas are simple formulas. Errors come from missed elements, wrong thicknesses and footings that change on a revised sheet.
The takeoff is the risk
Pulling every footing, pier and slab edge from plans and sections is the slow part. RenderDraw proposes those quantities with the source sheet attached.
Revisions
A spreadsheet doesn't know what changed in Addendum 2. Comparing revisions should show the deltas so you reprice only what moved.
The AI drafts. Your estimator decides.
Speed is easy to promise. Defensible numbers are the job, so RenderDraw keeps the estimator in control of every quantity that gets priced.
- Source on every row. Each quantity keeps its source sheet, location and reviewer decision.
- Lowest confidence first. The review queue shows the drawing tile with the detection highlighted and the extracted value.
- Uncertain items flagged, not hidden. Anything the AI can't confirm goes to the estimator rather than being guessed.
- Nothing priced before approval. Rows move on to pricing only after they are accepted.

Questions estimators ask
What should a concrete estimating template include?
Element-by-element dimensions, cubic yards with waste, formwork contact area, finish area, and a pricing section for concrete, placement, forms, finishing, reinforcing and accessories.
How do you calculate cubic yards of concrete?
Length × width × thickness in feet gives cubic feet; divide by 27 for cubic yards, then add waste.
Is there a concrete estimate template PDF?
The XLSX can be printed or saved to PDF from Excel or Google Sheets once you have filled it in.
Does this template include rebar?
It has a pricing line for reinforcing by weight. Rebar weight comes from a separate rebar takeoff.
Can RenderDraw fill this in?
RenderDraw's AI takeoff proposes quantities from your drawings for estimator review; you enter the approved quantities here. You stay in control of pricing.

Send one representative concrete plan set. RenderDraw reviews it and follows up with what the AI extracted and what it flagged for review. Your files remain private while the request is assessed, and there is no obligation.
- Upload foundation plans, slab plans, footing and column schedules, typical details, and the concrete and masonry spec sections.
- RenderDraw reviews the set and the scope you want tested.
- We follow up with extracted quantities, flagged items and next steps.
